United Way Of Greater Lorain County Raises $2,842,824.95
![]() Campaign Chair, Sherman Jones “It is my honor to have served as Campaign Chair and share in the commitment that the community has made by investing in The United Way of Greater Lorain County and their network of partner agencies.” The Celebration recognizes the many volunteers who made the Campaign a success. The “Community Spirit” award was given to PolyOne Corporation for their energetic campaign efforts, employee support specific to United Way, and participation. The “Community Impact” award was presented to Nordson Corporation in recognition for their exemplary corporate leadership, dedication and community involvement that bettered lives and the community. An “Employee Campaign Manager of the Year” award was given to William J. Braun, Vice President Global Quality Assurance at Invacare Corporation for recognition of his successful accomplishments and dedication in planning & running an employee giving campaign. And, the “Not-for-Profit” organization award, a newly created award, was received by Nord Center for their spirit and dedication exemplified in their fund raising and volunteer activities. Also, 13 Hometown Heroes were honored for their dedication & commitment to volunteering at United Way partner agencies. And finally, the most prestigious award, the “Caring Heart Award”, was presented by Gerald Skully, Executive Director of United Way of Greater Lorain County to Maria Zolli for her efforts while performing exceptional volunteer service for The United Way of Greater Lorain County. Her service to the community has been demonstrated over and over through her efforts of working with the United Way. Maria has been a good-will ambassador of the United Way for the past 10 years. The mission of United Way of Greater Lorain County is to build a strong, supportive community by raising and distributing funds to meet health and human service needs. In doing so, United Way of Greater Lorain County establishes partnerships that focus on collaborative problem-solving, capacity building and high accountability standards for themselves and the agencies and communities they serve. United Way of Greater Lorain County is a nonprofit agency that provided funding to 52 programs at 27 partner agencies through public contributions. |
