"I volunteer because I can! I am blessed in so many ways, and there are countless people who would love to volunteer but can't because of physical, mental or personal issues beyond their control. I try to abide by the 'do unto others as you would have them do unto you' philosophy. It really is rewarding."

"I volunteer for the United Way because my child receives assistance from a United Way organization and I want to be able to give back to the community."

"I volunteer for the United Way during the Allocation process. It is a way to find out more about my community and its needs. I enjoy the opportunity to 'give' through a gift of my time and to help my fellow man."
