In The Business of Caring - Read Why Nordson Corporation Supports UW

Since 1967, Nordson Corporation has been conducting employee giving campaigns on behalf of United Way. For Nordson, the United Way campaign is an annual tradition that embodies the shared importance the company and its employees place on supporting the communities in which we operate. That's why Nordson Corporation matches each employee's contribution, dollar-for-dollar, without limit. Over the past 15 years, Nordson and its employees have contributed more than $6 million to the United Way of Greater Lorain County.

This year, Nordson organized a number of supplemental activities to raise money, including soup lunches, a 50-50 raffle, a balloon pop and an auction. Combined, these fund-raisers netted more than $10,500. In all, employees donated more than $97,000 to this year's campaign. With the corporate match, Nordson's total contribution reached more than $194,000.

In addition to the fund-raising campaign, Nordson employees took part in three Day of Caring events: a computer training program for the clients of the Key at The Bridge in Oberlin, a Big Brothers/Big Sisters outing at Swings-N-Things for kids who are waiting to be assigned a big brother or big sister, and a playground clean up at the Children's Developmental Center.

An additional highlight to this year's campaign was working with United Way to pilot its new online pledging software, which 50 percent of Nordson employees utilized.

Nordson is proud to be a strong supporter of the United Way and continues its commitment throughout the year with its Time and Talent committee, which dedicates many volunteer hours to United Way agencies.
