United Way of Greater Lorain County's 14th Annual Day of Caring event in September is already underway. Day of Caring is a special event and wonderful occasion for donor's to see their dollars at work. Volunteers team up with our partner agencies and clients to complete hands-on projects at an agency, interact with clients, or organize an agency collection drive at their work place. Participating in Day of Caring offers volunteers a first-hand opportunity to learn about human service needs in Lorain County. Volunteer work gives companies, employees, and community groups an opportunity to make an impact.

Day of Caring is also a fun day for employees to be out in the community and work with their co-workers in a different environment. It's a win-win situation; fun for the volunteer, and a big help for a non-profit organization.

Save The Date!! The Pick A Project meeting will be June 6, 2007, 8:30 a.m. at the Lincoln Community Center. Projects will be chosen at this meeting.

United Way is pleased to announce this year's Day of Caring Co-chairs: Marianne Kocak from Lorain National Bank and Victor Leandry from El Centro De Servicios Sociales.

If you have not been contacted in the past for Day of Caring, and would like to, please email our Day of Caring Coordinator, Robbi Hunt, at robbi@uwglc.net.
