Joy, Joy, Joy Unspeakable Joy!

Campaign Chair Sherman Jones
We have just completed our United Way campaign and I’m proud to report that we exceeded all expectations. We were able to reach and surpass our goal for the first time in a number of years. What a great victory for all of us, Thank you!
This campaign was an absolute and complete success.
This is thanks to a great team, and of course, the generosity of the people of Greater Lorain County - both long-term supporters and new ones. Thank you to a wonderful community.
There were over 10,000 people who contributed to this year’s campaign. 434 people gave $500 or more and 299 people gave $1000 or more. In addition, there were 21 companies and organizations that had 100% of their employees contribute.
There can be no success without the hard work and sacrifices of a dedicated team. The campaign cabinet and the employee campaign coordinators are to be congratulated for their time and efforts. The campaign cabinet included, Lise Day, Betty Hansen, Tom Kowal, Ed Skimin, Paul Rigda, Ed Stewart, Mark Stewart, Dr. Karen Wells, and Maria Zolli. Jerry Skully and the wonderful staff at the United Way of Greater Lorain County are to be appreciated for their efforts, professionalism, and dedication.
There were a number of campaign awards given for outstanding individual and group efforts. On behalf of the campaign, I thank all of those individuals, groups, and companies for their exceptional work. The most prestigious award given by the United Way of Greater Lorain County, the Caring Heart Award, was presented to Maria Zolli for her efforts while performing exceptional volunteer service. Maria served on this year’s campaign cabinet, is a past campaign chairperson and is a dedicated volunteer working to help make her community a better place for all.
I want to thank all of you for your participation in this year’s campaign and for showing your support for our community and the vital services supported by our United Way. I am extremely proud of Greater Lorain County and the level of commitment shown by all.
Thank you for caring enough to “make a difference”. Let us continue to support efforts to “LIVE UNITED”.
